Dataset Assignment: Retail Gasoline Prices in the US in Dollars per Gallon

In this case, a dataset of the average price of gasoline in United States in all the months since 1999 (Appendix 1), shall be analyzed. This set of data has a range of 20 years (from 1999 to 2019), and includes each month’s gasoline average price in the United States in Dollars per Gallon.

The chosen data shows no obvious trend; the prices of gasoline fluctuate monthly and record an increase and decrease of the gasoline’s prices, at unexpected regions. Nonetheless, an observation can be noted, within specific time frames concerning the key price ranges. For instance, the gasoline’s price for most of the months between the years 1999 to 2005 was largely, under two dollars for every gallon purchased.
